0:00
this is the new Kia ev6 GT and it’s a

0:04
little bit like the martial art

0:06
Taekwondo because it’s Korean with quite

0:09
a punch you see this is effectively

0:11
Kia’s answer to the Tesla Model 3 or

0:13
model y performance now I’m going to

0:15
show you how much of a punch it’s got

0:16
later in the video when I launch it see

0:17
how quick it can go from naught to 60

0:19
miles an hour now in this video I’ll

0:20
also talk you around the exterior

0:21
upgrades of the standard V6 and the

0:23
interior changes plus what they’ve done

0:25
to the chassis to make it more fun to

0:26
drive because on my Watson and you’re

0:28
watching car wow Buy sell car wow

0:33
let’s start this video by talking about

0:35
the design changes that Kev made to the

0:37
GT version so first things first you’ve

0:39
got your GT badge there and a larger

0:41
roof spoiler they’ve also redesigned the

0:43
rear bumper slightly it’s fairly subtle

0:45
but now the cars is sort of diffusery

0:48
thing going on there and these

0:51
reflectors are vertical rather than

0:53
horizontal here’s the rear of a normal

0:55
gt9 model so you can compare the

0:56
difference okay moving down the side you

0:58
get 21 inch alloys standard with a

1:01
unique design then you probably noticed

1:02
as well look what’s going on with those

1:03
brake calipers yes on this GT version

1:05
you get this lime green luminous

1:08
high-vis effect on the brake calipers it

1:10
reminds me of a Porsche hybrid moving to

1:12
the front this part here has like

1:14
vertical slatwares on the GT line it

1:16
would be horizontal similar story here

1:18
we’ve got some vertical slack rather

1:19
than the horizontal effect once again

1:20
I’m going to show you the GT line model

1:22
so you can compare it to this this looks

1:24
slightly more aggressive but it’s very

1:26
hard to spot the differences really well

1:27
I think I do like about this particular

1:28
car though is the number plate ev6 hot

1:32
that’s quite cool rather than hot

1:35
price well the GT version of the Kia ev6

1:37
starts from just under 63 000 pounds

1:40
which is about seven thousand Pounds

1:42
more than the normal dual motor version

1:44
in GT line S trim now if you want to

1:47
make sure that you’re paying a fair

1:48
price for your next car in order to

1:49
compare different offers just head to

1:51
Caraway all you have to do is Google

1:53
help me car wow and my team and I help

1:56
you choose the right car for you and get

1:57
it for a fair price from one of our

1:58
trusted dealers here on the inside there

2:01
are only a few changes over the standard

2:02
Kia ev6 the most notable are the sport

2:05
seats which are very comfy and actually

2:07
more comfy than the standard seats

2:09
because those have a headrest which sort

2:11
of push your head forward into a bad

2:12
posture position not so with these I

2:14
prefer them also the GT gets this unique

2:17
lime green stitching to match the

2:19
calipers and also you’ve got the GT

2:21
button there more on that in a bit other

2:24
than that it’s pretty much identical so

2:26
overall quality is pretty good there are

2:28
a couple of scratchy Plastics lowered

2:30
down but it does feel solid really

2:31
clever design I like the way you can

2:33
toggle in between the infotainment

2:34
system and the climate control and you

2:36
have some physical buttons for the

2:38
climate control the infotainment system

2:39
is okay a little bit laggy at times but

2:41
it’s fine and you’ve got a big digital

2:43
driver’s display I also like the fact

2:45
that you get some really good surround

2:46
view cameras very handy on your parking

2:48
like you can look all the way around the

2:50
car you’ve got a little 3D image of it

2:51
there and this feature which I love when

2:54
you indicate you actually see what’s in

2:57
your blind spot from a camera on each

2:59
door mirror love that and the driving

3:01
position as well

3:03
nice you see a bit higher up than you

3:05
would do in say a Tesla Model 3 but it’s

3:07
not quite as high as what you class as a

3:09
normal SUV sort of just like a slightly

3:12
pumped up hatchback what’s that vaping

3:15
this car is always beeping it’s probably

3:16
because I’m in Reverse it was wise that

3:18
it was beeping otherwise I’d have

3:20
reversed and knocked cameraman Lewis

3:22
over

3:23
here in the back like with the front

3:24
sport seats you get a suede effect with

3:27
the lime green stitching other than that

3:29
it’s just like a normal care ev6 which

3:31
means headroom’s good knee room’s good

3:33
the only real major issues are the fact

3:34
that the seat is quite close to the

3:36
floor so there’s not much under thigh

3:37
support and you can’t really stretch

3:39
your legs out under the seat in front oh

3:41
nice fine let’s move on to practicality

3:43
and storage space so the Kiri V6 has a

3:47
front boot if you have the rear wheel

3:48
drive version you actually have 52

3:50
liters of space under here but the dual

3:52
motor versions because you’ve got a

3:53
motor underneath here have less storage

3:54
space just 20 liters so you’re not going

3:57
to be able to fit your normal charging

3:59
cables in here just cables for your

4:02
phone

4:04
spying me while at the back of the boot

4:07
is average in size for the Stana care

4:10
ev6 it’s 490 liters for this high

4:13
performance version though is 10 liters

4:15
less it’s a bit less space underneath

4:17
here to store your real cables that’s

4:20
because you’ve got a bigger more

4:21
powerful rear motor and it just eats

4:23
into space a little bit another five or

4:26
nine things about the Kia ev6 GT just

4:30
like with the Norway V6 there is no

4:31
Wireless Apple carplay or Android auto

4:34
which means you have to plug the phone

4:35
in if you want to use those functions

4:37
and your USB ports are there and so you

4:39
have to have the phone in this bin

4:40
that’s particularly annoying with this

4:43
high performance model which you’re

4:44
going to be driving quickly because your

4:46
phone’s going to end up rattling about

4:47
in there as you hoop it around the bends

4:50
for some reason in the UK you currently

4:52
can’t specify the GT version of the ev6

4:56
with the power on its sunroof you can

4:57
get it on the normal car without this

4:59
high performance version don’t know

5:00
whether that’ll change in future but if

5:02
you buy one now that could be rather

5:05
when the Germans do high performance

5:06
versions of their electric cars they

5:08
like to add in some high performance

5:11
sounds which add to the experience of

5:13
driving the more expensive and quicker

5:15
model here could have done that but they

5:16
didn’t makes the same noises as a

5:18
standard ev6 for some reason Kia has

5:21
limited the paint choices on the GT

5:23
version of the ev6 to just three this

5:25
gray a black and a white that’s a lot

5:27
while the range topping version of the

5:29
normal eb6 the GT line comes with

5:32
electric seats and standard for some

5:34
reason this more expensive GT doesn’t

5:36
get them they’re manually operated

5:39
however that was on to five cool things

5:42
about this car because you do at least

5:43
get a quick release system for the

5:45
backrest so you can go from upright to

5:47
horizontal to Upright again as quickly

5:51
as that continuing the seat theme the GT

5:54
model gets heated seats in the rear as

5:57
standard that means that your back

5:58
passengers can heat their back passages

6:01
the car has five different driving modes

6:04
so you have Eco and you’ll notice that

6:06
as you scroll through the LED lights

6:07
change to match the mode normal there we

6:10
go slightly different color sport always

6:12
gone red and then GT mode which have a

6:15
separate button for it goes yellow and

6:17
that puts the coin to maximum attack for

6:20
every single setting that you can

6:21
configure there’s also a my drive mode

6:24
so if I go into settings I can configure

6:26
things exactly as I like it so for that

6:28
I want everything in hardcore apart from

6:31
the suspension which I’m going to set to

6:33
normal which is the softest setting for

6:35
the Adaptive dampers perfect Kia clearly

6:38
mean business with this car because they

6:39
fit it with an electronically controlled

6:41
limited slip rear differential which can

6:43
send power to the rear wheel with the

6:46
most grip for excellent Corner exiting

6:48
traction so you can make the most of

6:50
that limited slip differential Kia has

6:52
actually fitted the GT with a direct

6:54
mode to activate it you need to first

6:56
put the car into GT mode then turn off

6:58
the stability control and traction

7:00
completely then you pull off on both

7:02
these paddles

7:03
drift mode is now engaged goodbye tires

7:10
now let’s talk about the most exciting

7:12
upgrades to this car and that’s to the

7:14
motors so they put out a combined

7:16
585 horsepower which is 260 horsepower

7:19
more than the standard dual motor

7:21
version of the ev6 you’ve also got 740

7:24
newton meters of torque which is insane

7:27
now kids also worked on the car’s brakes

7:29
so they’re big at the front and the rear

7:31
compared to the standard car they’ve

7:32
also tweaked the suspension so it’s

7:34
slightly softer at the front and stiffer

7:36
at the rear to make the car a little bit

7:37
more tail happy there is one problem

7:39
though the GT version of the Akira V6 is

7:41
almost 100 kilos heavier than the normal

7:45
dual motor car weighs in at 2.2 tonnes

7:48
now you may have a couple of questions

7:49
about this car first one being was a

7:52
prototype there well care sometimes does

7:54
this thing where they give you a

7:55
pre-production model to review so this

7:58
call will never be sold to a customer

7:59
for all intents and purposes it’s

8:01
exactly what the customer will get you

8:03
also might be doing that I said the

8:05
power output was 595 horsepower whereas

8:07
here it says 577 brake horsepower that’s

8:10
because I say metric horsepower not this

8:12
old-fashioned English way of brake

8:14
horsepower to be fair though which are

8:16
probably reporting things in kilowatts

8:18
an hour now if you’re thinking about

8:19
buying a new cars such as this you’re

8:20
probably gonna have to sell your current

8:21
car and if you want to find out what

8:24
it’s really worth you can use car wow

8:26
all you have to do is just upload some

8:27
photos give a brief description then add

8:28
digital bid on your car and if you want

8:30
to you can accept the highest offer from

8:32
the dealer Community House take the car

8:33
away put the money in your account if

8:34
not you just want to find out where your

8:36
car’s worth there’s no obligation to

8:37
sell and the service is completely free

8:38
if you want to try out now yourself just

8:40
click on the pop out banner up there or

8:42
follow the link in the description below

8:43
or if you want to do a later date or

8:45
tell your friends and family about it

8:46
all you have to do is Google help me car

8:49
wow and we’ll help you find average your

8:51
car is really worth okay let’s see what

8:53
this ev6 GTS like to drive I mean

8:56
maximum Attack Mode oh my God the

8:58
throttle response is insane is it like

9:00
through the bends

9:02
oh I cannot put down its power stays

9:05
pretty flat through the turns the

9:07
steering is relatively quick but you

9:09
don’t feel much through it oh you can’t

9:11
fault the performance but what you can’t

9:13
fault is how it rides over bumps oh my

9:15
gosh British country roads are generally

9:17
pretty bouncy and this thing is just

9:19
skipping all over the place so what I’ve

9:21
done is set up my driving mode pressing

9:23
the button I’ve got everything else in

9:25
sporty apart from the suspension which

9:27
is now in the softer setting and that is

9:29
better does mean it leans a bit more in

9:31
the bend so it doesn’t feel quite as

9:32
sharp but I’m not being shaken like a

9:34
Polaroid picture it’s much more composed

9:36
still not as composed though as the

9:38
normal Kiri V6 which rides on slightly

9:40
smaller wheels and is also lightable

9:42
about 100 kilos you know it’s quite a

9:44
heavy car 2.2 tons doesn’t ever feel

9:47
quite as sporty as the Tesla Model 3

9:49
Performance that is more fun to drive it

9:52
just is what’s this car like to daily

9:54
drive while the umph from the extra

9:57
performance is really handy when you’re

9:59
overtaking on the mode twice so I’m at

10:00
50 miles an hour I’m going to floor it

10:02
GT modem

10:04
that’s 70. you are up to speed I like

10:08
that it is super super quick however one

10:11
thing you do notice with this car

10:12
compared to the standard ev6 is when

10:15
you’re going about 70 miles an hour

10:16
because you’ve got sportier tires they

10:18
just seem to create a little bit more

10:20
road noise than the normal car maybe

10:22
it’s the 21 inch hello Wheels as well so

10:24
it’s a little bit less relaxing I’ll

10:26
tell you what’s also a little bit less

10:27
relaxing and that’s the range you see

10:30
Kia claims this high performance version

10:31
of the ev6 will do 263 miles on a charge

10:36
but I’m averaging

10:38
2.6 miles per kilowatt hour which when

10:41
you multiply that by the battery

10:42
capacity of 77 kilowatt hours you get a

10:45
real world range of 200 miles now that’s

10:48
a mixture of town driving and Motorway

10:51
driving not going particularly quickly

10:53
though when I was driving this thing

10:54
just in town it was averaging 3.4 miles

10:56
per kilowatt hour which then would be a

10:59
real world range of 260 miles but with

11:01
the colors you’re probably going to

11:02
commute in it aren’t you which will of

11:04
some faster Road sections you might be

11:07
better off with the standard car if you

11:08
want to maximize your range now I’m

11:10
going to launch the Kia ev6 GT so I

11:12
could get this from 0 to 60 miles an

11:14
hour I’m going to start off in eco mode

11:17
where the power output is limited to 293

11:19
horsepower what will be the north 60

11:21
time let’s do it

11:25
fairly sedate takeoff

11:28
building power now though

11:32
6.75 seconds let’s up the ante now I’m

11:36
going to switch into sport mode where

11:38
power is increased to 466 horsepower

11:41
what will be the quarter mile time now

11:43
here we go

11:44
foreign

11:51
[Applause]

11:52
4.25 seconds what a difference but

11:55
there’s still more to come finally then

11:57
I’m going to press the green GT button

12:00
going to GT mode and now I have the full

12:04
585 horsepower Kia says that’s good

12:06
enough for note 60 in 3.5 seconds but

12:09
what will it be let’s find out

12:12
got some wheelspin there blimey this is

12:15
another level naught 60

12:19
3.71 seconds not quite as quick as Kia

12:22
said because I lost traction on the

12:23
front axle but wow it’s quick

12:29
[Music]

12:31
[Applause]

12:32
so then what’s my final verdict on the

12:34
Kia ev6 GT should you avoid it consider

12:37
it shortlist it or just go right ahead

12:39
and buy it well I reckon you should

12:41
shortlist it it’s not the most fun to

12:43
drive performance EV but you can’t deny

12:46
it’s blooming quick I hope you enjoyed

12:48
the video if you did give it a like do

12:50
you agree with my verdict though let me

12:52
know in the comments below click on

12:54
those windows there you can watch some

12:55
more videos and on that box there you

12:57

12:58
haven’t done so already so make sure you

12:59
do that thanks for watching

Well for starters, let’s look at what you get over the standard EV6. In terms of the exterior design… Well, it’s all pretty similar to the standard EV6! Around the back, you’ll find a larger roof spoiler, a new rear bumper, and some GT badging. The GT also comes riding on 21” as standard, and it also has a slightly redesigned, more aggressive front end. Otherwise, it’s pretty much identical to the normal car!

It’s a similar story on the inside. There’s a fair amount of lime green stitching throughout the cabin, and you’ll also find a pair of new sports seats up front. Apart from that, it’s the same as the normal EV6… But then again, that’s no bad thing!

But of course, if you’re interested in the EV6 GT, you’ll want to know about the motor upgrades! Power output has been boosted pretty significantly, with the EV6 GT producing 585hp and 740Nm – that’s 260hp more than the regular dual-motor EV6!! The GT edition also comes with bigger brakes and tweaked suspension. The only negative, though, is that it’s about 100kg heavier than the regular car, so it tips the scales at 2,185kg.

So what do you think – can this Kia warrant the £63,000 price tag? Or would you just choose a Tesla instead? Let us know in the comments!
