Granit Xhaka of Switzerland warns that Germany is a dangerous opponent at EURO 2024

Key midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen and the Switzerland national team, Granit Xhaka, rates the strength of the German team highly on the eve of EURO 2024, despite the “tank’s” recent unstable form.

Granit Xhaka, “captain” of Bayer Leverkusen and the Swiss national team, is shining brightly in the Bundesliga this season. However, Xhaka has received a lot of “brickbats” from home for the unconvincing performance of Nati in the EURO 2024 qualifying campaign.

Nevertheless, Granit Xhaka still rates the strength of the German national team – Switzerland’s opponent in the “group of death” at EURO 2024. In a recent interview, Xhaka said: “Germany is always a formidable opponent. They have many quality players and a good coach. We will have to play our best if we want to beat them.”

Granit Xhaka also praised Germany’s recent form: “They have played very well recently. They won last year’s UEFA Nations League and remain unbeaten in the EURO qualifiers. They are one of the top contenders for the championship.”

However, 31-year-old midfielder Granit Xhaka believes that Switzerland can certainly spring a surprise. “We are very excited to face Germany, the host team. There have been some jokes in the dressing room about this,” Xhaka revealed, “This is a great group.”

Granit Xhaka also hopes that both Switzerland and Germany will have a successful EURO, especially with the participation of Leverkusen teammates such as Florian Wirtz, Jonathan Tah, Jonas Hofmann, and Robert Andrich in the “Mannschaft” squad.

The match between Switzerland and Germany promises to be one of the most notable confrontations at EURO 2024. Can “Nati” make history against the powerful German team with 3 times European champions (1972 – 1980 – 1996) of world football? Let’s wait and see!
