Romelu Lukaku – Top contender for the Euro 2024 Golden Boot?

With impressive scoring form in the qualifiers, Romelu Lukaku is considered one of the brightest candidates for the Golden Boot at Euro 2024. Can the Belgian striker shine and help his team make a surprise at this tournament?

Although not highly rated as other giants like Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, England, the Belgian national team is always a formidable “dark horse” at major tournaments. And one of their most potent “weapons” is striker Romelu Lukaku.

In the Euro 2024 qualifiers campaign, Romelu Lukaku showed bright form with 14 goals after 8 matches, becoming the top scorer. This makes Romelu Lukaku a heavy candidate for the Golden Boot at the upcoming Euro Finals.

Sharing about his goal, Romelu Lukaku confidently affirmed: “I want to make history with the Belgian national team at Euro 2024. Winning the Golden Boot will be a great motivation, but more importantly the overall performance of the whole team.”

However, Romelu Lukaku’s chance will also depend on how far Belgium can go in this tournament. If eliminated early, clearly the 30-year-old striker Romelu Lukaku will have difficulty competing with the strikers of the championship candidates Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, England.

Famous journalist Fabrizio Romano commented: “Romelu Lukaku is at the peak of his career. If Belgium plays well and creates many opportunities for him, I believe Romelu Lukaku is fully capable of winning the Euro 2024 Golden Boot.”

However, this is still not an easy challenge for Romelu Lukaku, when he will have to compete with top-class strikers like Harry Kane (England), Kylian Mbappe (France) or Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal).

Can Romelu Lukaku shine brightly and create miracles for Belgian football at Euro 2024? Let’s wait for the answer on the European football field this summer in June!
